Mrs. Tyson

We spent the weekend in St. George for Tyson's wedding festivities. We ended up bringing 9 friends to stay at the Mitchell's with us... they were so nice to let us all stay. It was a party.

Friday night was the wedding dinner in the Hafen's backyard.
Childhood BFFs

Saturday morning I ran 18 miles with Lisa and her running crew, then we went to the sealing at the temple.

We stayed for the whole reception. It was really fun and Cal was such a trooper.

We had a 2nd birthday party for little Kaden on Sunday. He is a riot. I love him!

Park weather

The weather has been so lovely, we spent a lot of time outside this weekend! Hurray for springtime in Vegas!

Cal & I met the Van Boerums at the park! They were visiting from California. It was nice to see them/meet baby Sophie.

Little dude loooves going running with me in the mornings.

We had a dog date at the park with these lovelies. Hobbes loves Honey & Ryder.

Sunday evening walk! I am glad that we live so close to the Wetlands Park. I like going running there, and I am excited for Cal to get older and appreciate the ducks and bunnies.

Cal is loving being able to eat things besides breastmilk :) He is not very patient though... he usually cries between bites.

Reading through this, I decided that I use the word 'lovely' too much. I suppose life is pretty good when 'lovely' is the word that I overuse to describe it.

6 months

We have got a 6 month babe on our hands! Another big month for baby Cal.
Here is what he is up to at 6 months of age:

-The biggest thing this month is that Cal has really started to figure out how to use his hands. I can give him a toy and he will play with it. It is fun to watch him explore with his hands.
-He has totally mastered rolling from his back to his stomach, but not so much the other way. This is unfortunate for him since he does not particularly like being on his stomach...
-We took him to the doctor because he spits sosososo much. The doctor told us that it is just a laundry problem and that he will grow out of it by 9 months or so.
-We started him on solid foods at about 5 1/2 months because the doctor said it might help with the barfing. It has been fun! He eats sweet potatoes, rice cereal, applesauce, and carrots.
-I have figured out that Cal does not particularly like crowds. The times where he seems to cry for no reason have been at basketball games, weddings, Cafe Rio, etc.
-Still loves the carseat, stroller, and being outside.
-He likes Hobbes now!! They play together a lot these days. Hobbes is kind of like my little babysitter because he can keep Cal entertained.
-Bathtime is our favorite time.
-We went swimming 6 or 7 times this month. Cal usually really likes being in the water! Not so much being dunked... but he likes splashing around.
-Hobbes killed the mustache binky and I can't get Cal to take another one.
-Calvin is a champion sleeper now! He normally only wakes up once in the night, and it is usually before i have even gone to bed. It is kind of a rare occasion for him to be rocked to sleep or fall asleep in someone's arms, but when I put him in his crib he usually falls right to sleep.
-I can tell that he recognizes people he knows. He seriously smiles every time he makes eye contact with Dallin.
-He hates church.
-He makes the best ever facial expression where he makes an O face with his mouth and smiles at the same time. It is super adorable.

We love him.

SLC Spring Breakers

Dallin had a whole week off for Spring break, so we headed to Salt Lake to visit family. Dal locked himself in the basement to study most of the days, but we had such a nice time. Cal & Hobbes got spoiled with attention. They loved it.

 Bowling with Dallin's crew.

Snowboarding date at the bird.
(My mom watched Cal)

Cafe Rio after the boys went golfing.

Locking Calvin in the car on accident. Seriously, I have no idea how it happened. Luckily the weather was great and he seemed to not care. I, however, almost had a heart attack.

Cal got in some aunt-bonding-napping time.

Calvin and my mom hung out all day every day for 10 days. I think that he might be going through some serious withdrawals. He loves her!

Alex took both Cal & Hobbes on a walk every day.

We went to Winger's with the 2 almost marrieds. We are excited for their weddings coming up!

I spent a lot of time with my grandparents while I was there. They just might be Calvin's #1 fans.

Mmmm... Diet Coke

We got in the hot tub several times. Cal likes swimming... most of the time.
Here we are with Caitie & Jordie.

For April Fools, I played a joke on Max, Aubree, and Nate by putting up random ads on Craiglist that they were selling animals. They got a bunch of calls... Aubree got one from someone at 4 in the morning! I love April Fool's Day.

Easter is super fun at my parent's house. My dad makes up a big scavenger hunt, and we have to drive all around the city to find our baskets.
One of the clues was:
2g=163 and pi<175cc 4wh
The answer was at my grandparent's house under the 175cc 4 wheelers. It was so fun.

Cal's Easter outfit
Our little family on Easter
I found out that Maren was getting her mission call the Wed. after I was leaving, so I decided to just stay a few extra days to watch her open her call. Dallin drove home with Kyle. Jackie and I waited for the mailman all day long. Maren drove down from Logan to open it on Wednesday and we found out that she is going to GUATAMALA!! I am so excited for her. It is really close to Max's mission. It will be fun for them to get to speak Spanish together when she gets back.

4 Generations

Cal's biggest fan

I really love living where I do, but it is hard to be away from family. It was so nice to see everyone and have everyone see Cal.

Not pictured:
-Catching up with Rachel & Amy.
-Going to lunch with Lauren Hansen & Sherin and meeting cute baby Graham.
-Meeting Lauren Ev for shopping, having Cal be fussy the whole time and looking like the most flustered mom in history! Worth it to see Lauren.
-Running 12 miles with Jackie down the canyon, and not being able to walk the next day because it was so steep.
-Going to Alex's patriarchal blessing, which was superb.
-Visiting with the Mitchell fam on the way home.
-Driving home by myself with the 2 boys and having Cal & Hobbes sleep all 6 hours!
