October in UTAH

My dad drove us back to Utah from Ohio and where we spent the rest of the month missing Dallin and doing all the Halloween festivities. Calvin also went mountain biking with my dad a bunch and started preschool at a place down the street.

Trick or treating was so fun this year, Mae was really cute! Calvin dressed up as a ninja + Mae was a spider. Maren and my mom came with us and the kids got tons of candy. Halloween success.

See ya later, Dallin (in OHIO)

So I decided to move in with my parents while Dallin was in Afghanistan. Dal had a date that he was supposed to leave and I planned to leave about a week after that so he would for sure be gone (ha!) and drive to Ohio to spend a week with my friends, then my dad was flying out to drive the rest of the way with me. Well the day came and we had our emotional last day with Dal and then he didn't leave because the army is super disorganized always. I was really grumpy because it felt like such an emotional roller coaster, we had to be out of our house (oh, and I was barfing a lot because I was pregnant).  We didn't really know what to do because Dal wasn't leaving and we were supposed to be out of our house so we just decided to have him come to Ohio with us! It was probably a good thing that he did because I threw up a bunch of times on the drive there, so it might have been hard if I had been driving by myself.

I had a fabulous time with my best friends in Ohio and it was nice to have Dal there. We had a dramatic goodbye in the parking lot of a rental car place where I felt Dallin and knew the next time that I saw him I would have a baby (even though I was only 9 weeks along at the time). It was pretty terrible but I am glad I got to come back to my bffs + not have to be alone.

Med school friends for life.

Calvin + Mae turn 5 + 3

We had a big combined birthday party for the kids this year and apparently I did't take any pictures. There were about 30 kids there and both my kids loved it so much. It ended up being crazy hot for October and all of the kids were sweating their guts out but they had a great time. It wasn't fancy or anything but we let them each pick out a cheesy cake from dairy queen and got pizza for everyone. We rented a bouncy house and Calvin + some of the neighborhood kids seriously jumped in it from noon until 10 pm. It was a hot and happy birthday for my kids.
