A doctor and a captain

Welp, Dallin graduated from medical school. Honestly (he probably feels differently than I do), but I loved our whole 4 years in Vegas for med school. So I was both overwhelmingly proud on the day of his graduation and really sad that it is over. We felt so much support that day! All of Dallin's siblings (besides Lauren who is in Peru), his parents, my parents, his grandparents, and Greg + Catherine came. Plus all of our nieces and nephews! It was a party.

The day started off a little rocky when 10 minutes before Dal was supposed to leave he could not find his graduation cap anywhere (turns out it was packed with the movers). He was freaking out- but it all turned out fine. Before the graduation he had a ceremony where he became a captain in the army! It was really cool, and also fun to have everybody there.

After that we grabbed something to eat before graduation. I actually really like the ceremony, I especially loved it during the hour and a half where both kids fell asleep! All of the speakers were really good and it was fun to hear Dal (+ all of our other friends) names being called.

Aaaaaaand this was when Calvin and Sloane had to say goodbye to each other... we have no idea when they will see each other next. It was basically the worst thing ever. They kept hugging and kissing. Then, for some reason, Cal started screaming, "no say goodbye to Sloane!"... even though he does fine saying goodbye to her every single day. It's like he knew. And it ripped my heart out a little bit.

And this is when Dal opened his graduation gift from his parents (an iwatch). He was pretty stoked, to say the least.

Now we can call him Dr. Captain Dallin Mitchell. I like his title of Dad and husband the best, though.
