Mae @ 8 months

Mae is 8 months old. She had a pretty dang busy month!!

This month, Mae...
-Mae had a rough start to her 8th month. Getting over being sick was rough and she was sad for a few days.
-We left her for the first time over night. Actually, we left her for 3 nights! I was beyond panicked, especially since she had been fussy before we were supposed to leave. Even though we had planned this trip to Havasupai with my family since Christmas, I almost didn't go. But we went and I missed the crap out of her- but she did awesome at Dal's parents house. She took a bottle, slept through the night, and even went to work with Lisa for a full day and did great.
-She still army crawls and is getting a tiny bit faster. When putting her down to play I usually make a circle of toys around her, but she usually crawls right past them and tries to find some kind of lint, dog hair, or other disgusting thing to put into her mouth.
-She still sleeps through the night and naps like a champ on the go, which is good because I am bad at staying home these days.
-She went on her first airplane! We took her to Cabo (and left Cal with my parents) and she was so fun to have there. She did awesome on the plane ride there, the ride back she was a little fussy but we sat by the nicest people ever so I wasn't super flustered. She is obsessed with swimming and her little boyfriend Max so she made Cabo even more perfect than usual. Plus, she got to wear all of her billions of swimsuits and coverups, so that was good too.
-She still spits up and now that she is mobile she crawls around and barfs everywhere and it's pretty disgusting.
-We still love nursing. She is kind of a stinker, though. When we were going on our trip we couldn't get her to take a bottle. After insisting I not go, Dal convinced me that she would take one when she was hungry enough. While we were gone Dennis and Lisa said that she loved her bottle. When we came back she refused to nurse. I was not ready to be done so we struggled through it for a few weeks but now we are back on track.
-She says "mama", "dada", and "baba"... but mostly, "mama"
-Calvin is obsessed with her. He makes her laugh more than anyone but he also drives her nuts sometimes with his constant smothering.
-She loves Hobbes even more than Cal does and it is so fun.
-Mae is really special. I am trying to think of a better word, but that one fits. We are so happy to have her in our family.
