We have been in Hawaii for a week now and I have about a billion pictures to show for it! It is seriously so beautiful here.
Our plane ride was quite the adventure since Cal is only a couple of months away from needing his own seat and I was 30 weeks pregnant. We couldn't even eat the meal that they brought to us because, between my toddler and my belly, the tray in front of us wouldn't go down. Cal didn't sleep for the whole 6 hours (except for as the plane was landing), but he actually did really well. Although he was a rockstar on the flight, it was hard to have him on my lap for that long... I threw up twice. But we made it!

Cal and I went exploring on our first day there. We are staying in a high rise in Waikiki- within walking distance from everything! Cal fell asleep in the stroller because his sleep schedule was so off. The view from the balcony of our hotel is amazing!!

Dal had the next day off because of hurricane Iselle. We stocked up on food the night before and were prepared to have to stay in our hotel for the whole weekend... which I was bummed about. The weather looked fine, so we ended up driving out to the north shore and ate the absolute best coconut shrimp that I have ever had. Afterwards we went to the dole plantation and ate pineapple ice cream... yumm! We came home and made dinner on our dreamy balcony. Our experience of hurricane Iselle ended up being a light sprinkle and a breeze. It was awesome that Dal got the day off!
The next day we met Jenna, Sam & cute baby Scout at Waimea falls. The falls themselves were beautiful, but the water was super dirty because of the hurricane. We got in anyway, and made Cal get in! He hated it. But he had a good time on the stroll up there and the views were incredible! Afterwards we went to Waimea Bay and it was perfect. It was such a fun time being at the beach with the 3 of us.

We went to church on Sunday. Cal was a terror and I threw up so we left after an hour. The church there is beautiful, though. After Cal got up from his nap we drove to Pearl Harbor. We didn't do any of the tours, but it was still fun to walk around. We went on a drive all around Hawaii afterwards to look at neighborhoods where we could potentially live if we matched here. Hawaii is so, so beautiful. We saw a lot of places and, while it still makes me nervous to think of moving here because it is so far from family, it made me feel better.
Monday was not a good day for us in Hawaii because we couldn't find Dal's wallet when he went to leave for work in the morning. I felt especially crappy about it because I was the last person to have had it. Aaaaand we still haven't found it. Cal and I spent the day stressing and walking to a bunch of police stations.

Reward for being nice on our wallet-finding day |
We made up for it the next day by going to the beach THREE times in 1 day! We headed to Waikiki beach in the morning and Cal loved it. He is getting braver in the waves. It is really fun but also not at all relaxing, haha. We got a beach-side snowcone after his nap while we were waiting for Dal to get home. In the evening we went to Duke's to try to Hula pie. We definitely could have shared 1 piece instead of 2 because they were huge! We got it to-go and ate our dessert on the beach at sunset.

"Beach" is Cal's new favorite word. I am feeling a lot of love with my tiny family this week.
